Privacy Policy

The short version

We collect the account details you give us and the trip content you create, we use them to run the app, and we share them only with the service providers that make the app work (like our hosting, database, and the AI services that parse the things you paste in). We don’t sell your data. You can export or delete your trips and close your account at any time.

What we collect

Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address and authentication details. If you sign in with Google, we receive your basic profile information (email and name) from Google.

Trip content you create. Everything you put into a trip — itineraries, activities, lodging, flights, transport, budgets, notes, tags, and any documents, screenshots, or images you upload. This is stored so we can show it back to you and to people you share it with.

Content you save through the extension. When you use the Gadabout Chrome extension to save a page or selection, we receive the content and the source URL so we can add it to your trip.

Collaboration and invitations. If you invite someone to a trip, we collect the email address you provide so we can send the invitation.

Automatically collected data. Basic technical information such as your browser type, device, and log data needed to operate and secure the service. We use authentication cookies/tokens to keep you signed in.

How we use your information

We use your information to create and maintain your account, store and display your trips, power features you ask for (importing and parsing what you paste, generating packing lists, maps, cover images, and budget conversions), enable sharing and collaboration, communicate with you about the service, and keep the app secure and working.

AI features and third-party processing

Some features send the content you provide to third-party AI providers so it can be parsed or generated — for example when you paste a flight confirmation, activity, or document and Gadabout turns it into structured trip data, or when it generates a packing list, banner, or cover image. Only the content needed for that feature is sent. We don’t use your trip content to train our own models, and our providers act as processors on our behalf.

Other services we share data with

We rely on a small set of providers to run Gadabout. They only receive what they need to perform their function:

• Hosting and infrastructure — Vercel hosts the app.
• Database, authentication, and file storage — Supabase stores your account, trip content, and uploads.
• Maps and geocoding — when you add a location or import a map link, the address or place is sent to a maps/geocoding provider (Google Maps) to look up coordinates.
• Currency rates — a currency-rate provider supplies exchange rates for budget conversions.
• AI providers — as described above.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

Sharing and public links

Gadabout lets you create share links (for a plan, guide, or invitation). Anyone with a link can view what it points to, so treat share links as public. You control whether to create or revoke them.

Data retention and your choices

Your content stays until you delete it or close your account. You can edit or delete trips at any time, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information; contact us to exercise them.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar storage only for essential purposes — mainly keeping you signed in. We don’t use them for advertising.

Children

Gadabout isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
